    The attention of applicants is drawn to the fact that set of rules on the postponement of testing of certain fruit species have been established in order to implement Article 56.6 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2100/94 which states that “The Administrative Council may determine that the technical examination for varieties of vine and tree species may begin at a later date”.  The detailed set of rules and the fruit

    The attention of applicants is drawn to the fact that as from 2004, Community plant variety rights technical examinations for fruit varieties will no longer be carried out in the United Kingdom. Any varieties currently under test by the British authorities will nonetheless finalise their testing there.  Future apple and pear applications will be tested either by GEVES in France or the Bundessortenamt in Germany.
