An opinion of Advocate General Bobek in Case C-239/18 was delivered on 23 May 2019. In the opinion AG Bobek analyses to what extent national official bodies must provide information on plant varieties upon request. A judgement from the court can be expected in six months.

Technical examinations which are initiated or are to be approved by the Community Plant Variety Office must be performed in accordance with the test guidelines which have been adopted by the Administrative Council. Technical examinations started prior to the decision are not affected unless otherwise announced.
