    Newsletter #14 Winter 2017-2018

    As you will see in this 14th issue, 2017 represented another year of a high number of applications, objections and appeals. Although the handling of applications and granting of titles is carried out year after year we continuously strive to make the procedure more efficient and user-friendly. In 2017, the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) engaged in what can be described as a new type of activity, namely participating in bids for funds for projects relating to plant varieties. The European Commission has organised a research project under Horizon 2020 (H2020)

    Joint declaration on harassment

    The CPVO applies zero tolerance against harassment at the workplace, sexual and psychological. The President of the CPVO has, together with Heads of EU Agencies, signed a statement to this effect published on #InternationalWomensday2018.

    Together, we the Heads of EU agencies and Joint undertakings commit to zero tolerance towards sexual harassment and we cannot and will not accept harassment of any form in our agencies. We take it upon ourselves to communicate to our staff that harassment in the workplace is never acceptable. We have committed ourselves in accordance with existing laws and particularly the staff regulation, to promote diversity at work and provide our staff with a trusted place in which to work.
