    'The mechanism of PBR': Interview with Francesco Mattina

    In occasion of the CPVO's joint stand at IPM Essen 2023, CPVO President Francesco Mattina was interviewed by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) for their latest publication: 'AIPH Special Edition 2023', which is focused on IPM Essen 2023.

    AIPH is the global association for ornamental horticulture. Founded in 1948, its mission is to reignite and uphold an appreciation of plants and to build a world in which humanity, technology, and nature exist in a healthy and stable equilibrium. In 2018, AIPH acquired FCI (FloraCulture

    New partnership between the CPVO and the University of Udine (Italy) to train intellectual property professionals in the field of new plant varieties

    In an agreement signed by CPVO President, Francesco Mattina, and the Rector of the University of Udine, Roberto Pinton, the CPVO and the University of Udine have agreed to join forces to train professionals specialized in the IP protection and development of new plant varieties.

    The University of Udine has developed an excellent reputation and know-how in the creation of new plant varieties and is the Italian university with the highest number of community plant variety rights (CPVRs) granted by the CPVO – i.e. 25 CPVRs. In addition, 23 of these are subject of licensing

    General seminar

    Seeds of quality seminar: CPVO, ASSOSEMENTI and CREA

    SEME DI QUALITA' Seminar (il progetto Smartseeds incontra il CPVO) will be held on 15 December 2022 in the CPVO. The seminar is organized in collaboration with ASSOSEMENTI and CREA. The seminar will present the Community Plant Variety Right System, the Smartseeds project and the model of public-private interaction.

    WHEN : 15 December 2022, 13:00-18:00.

    The seminar will be held mainly in Italian language and partly in English language. Free participation, click here to register.

    CPVO’s vision towards 2026

    CPVO’s vision towards 2026, the Strategic Plan of the Community Plant Variety Office for the period 2022-2026, has been published today.

    The Strategic Plan 2022-2026 provides an overall vision and outlines the priorities and focus areas of the CPVO in the years to come. The document is also a key element of our performance management framework, helping ensure that the CPVO achieves its objectives in an efficient, effective, and consistent manner.

    The new Strategic Plan was approved by the CPVO Administrative Council on 14 October 2022 in Amsterdam and covers a period
