Online applications:
E-users (applicants or their procedural representatives) only need to append scanned deeds of assignments and representative forms (credentials) to the online application. The Office may however request an original if in doubt as to the accuracy of the document.

Users who opted for the electronic communication with the Office must send any of the documents listed below via the user area ‘MyPVR’, using either one of the specific e-modules available from their dashboard, or the communication centre or the e-module dedicated to ‘Legal Proceedings’.

Paper applications:

Application forms filed by parties to proceedings need to bear an original signature in ink.

As to all other forms and supporting documents, including deeds of assignment and procedural representative forms (or credentials such as powers of attorney) they can be provided in copy.

Users who did not opt for the electronic communication with the Office can send any of the documents listed below either as a signed letter attached to an e-mail (to be sent exclusively to the following Office address: cpvo [at] cpvo.europa.eu (cpvo[at]cpvo[dot]europa[dot]eu)) or an original signed letter by post.

List of documents concerned:

  • a document sent in support of an application for a CPVR already filed, (NB: not an application form itself),
  • a document sent in response to a letter from the Office setting a deadline for reply (e-users via the Communication Centre),
  • a proposal for a variety denomination (e-users via the e-module ‘Denominations’ from the dashboard of MyPVR),
  • a declaration of withdrawal of an application (e-users via the e-module ‘Withdrawal of active files’ from the dashboard of MyPVR),
  • a declaration of surrender of a CPVR (e-users via the e-module ‘Surrender of granted files’ from the dashboard of MyPVR),
  • an objection to the grant of a CPVR (e-users via the e-module ‘Legal proceedings'),
  • a notice of appeal against a decision of the Office (e-users via the e-module ‘Legal proceedings'),
  • a written statement setting out the grounds of appeal (e-users via the e-module ‘Legal proceedings'),
  • a nullity request (e-users via the e-module ‘Legal proceedings').

In case of doubt, the Office may insist on providing original paper documents or certified copies thereof.
