GEVES, INRA and CPVO are jointly organising a Fruit Open Day in the INRA GAFL research units in Avignon-Montfavet (Vaucluse, France) and Bellegarde (Gard, France) on Wednesday 15 June 2011.
This open day is aimed at breeders, their representatives and examination offices in charge of fruit DUS testing in the European Union. It will allow an exchange of views on essential aspects in relation to fruit DUS testing and in particular on the following issues:
- latest developments in DUS testing procedures;
- presentation of investigation in view of a possible decrease of costs in DUS testing;
- optimal use of variety collections, including presentation of conclusions of the R&D project on management of peach reference collections;
- the possible use of molecular techniques for variety identification.
This open day will also provide the opportunity to present ongoing DUS trials of peach and apricot species.
