    IP Key SEA: Webinars on Plant Variety Protection and UPOV 1991

    On 10 and 11 June 2021, IP Key South-East Asia (SEA) is organising 'Webinars on Plant Variety Protection and UPOV 1991. This online event is a follow-up to the webinar series organised by the IP Key SEA in collaboration with the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) and with the cooperation of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) in November 2020.

    This webinar series will focus on the contribution of plant variety protection to sustainable farming and global food security while reducing the impact on climate change. The webinars will

    CPVO signs new Administrative Arrangement with Chinese counterparts

    The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO), the Development Centre of Science and Technology, Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs of China (DCST, MARA), and the Science and Technology Development Centre, National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China (STDC, NFGA) signed a new Administrative Arrangement on 26 May 2021, after the previous Administrative Arrangement for the period 2018-2020 had expired.

    Dear readers,

    Spring has come and flowers have started to bloom. Many of us will have a short break or celebrate Easter in a few days and there is hope that COVID vaccination will speed up across Europe. Earlier in March I met with the US Department of Agriculture. We agreed that the CPVO would publish information on the fact that DUS reports from the CPVO and its entrusted Examinations Offices from across the EU can be accepted for all asexually reproduced plant variety applications in the USA.
