Presentation at SIVAL 2023: The European system for the protection of new varieties of plants

Jean Maison, Deputy Head of the Plant Variety Expertise Unit at the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) gave a detailed presentation of the European Plant Variety Protection system and procedures pertaining to the required technical reviews at SIVAL 2023. 

SIVAL 2023 took place in Angers, France, from 17 to 19 January. With 700 exhibitors and 26,000 professional visitors annually, SIVAL is the only trade show in France to present a comprehensive and impressive offering of equipment and services for all plant productions: arboriculture, vegetable crops, seeds, viticulture, horticulture, medicinal and aromatic plants, cider, mushrooms and tobacco. The fair is organized by professionals in the plant sector, and it focuses on promoting innovation in AGtech, internationalization and supporting employment in the plant industry.
